After honing his business skills in corporate America with IBM and Porsche Cars North America, Joe turned the focus of his career towards collaborating with clients and creatives who share a passion for using big ideas to build great brands by launching Hansen Creative, Inc. in 1996. Ten years later, Joe and Jackie Shelton formed Realife Publishing to create local, category-leading magazines that delight readers and build businesses. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and the Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Reno program, Joe has also served as President of the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada and currently sits on the Reno Ad Foundation board of directors.

After a 20-year career in the communications industry, Jackie has found her niche in publishing. A native Nevadan, she takes great joy in presenting the stories of the many amazing people, places and things that can be found here and as a partner in Realife Publishing, she is also the co-publisher of RLife magazine. In addition to her magazine work, Jackie has been published in Chicken Soup for the Single’s Soul and 365 Scary Stories, a Barnes & Noble anthology. Jackie’s advertising career has netted he numerous awards from organizations as varied as the American Advertising Federation and the Western Fairs Association. Managing Editor Linda Fine Conaboy | Linda@familypulsemag.com Linda Fine Conaboy is a Reno/Tahoe-based freelance writer and the editor of Family Pulse Magazine. She loves working out of her home office where she shares space most days with two Cocker Spaniels and an old, mangy cat named Quincy. Time away from the keyboard can find her in the garden, at the gym, having lunch with friends and colleagues or at the Lake Tahoe family cabin in the woods where she spends hours hiking with her husband Frank. Road trips have recently sneaked their way to the top of the list of pleasurable must-dos.

Jessica is also the editor of RLife magazine and the owner of Jessica Santina Writing Services. She grew up in Atlanta and attended Emory University, where she earned a B.A. in English in 1994. In 1996, she moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada, where she completed a Master of Arts in Writing in 1998. Her professional experience includes seven years of local television production and promotions, six years teaching first-year writing courses at the University of Nevada, Reno, and five years as a self-employed freelance writer and editor. Elizabeth is also the assistant editor of RLife magazine and a Northern Nevada freelance writer. She grew up in the small town of Hawthorne, Nev. and moved to Reno in 2003 to attend the University of Nevada, Reno where she earned a B.A. in Journalism in 2007. Although she doesn’t have any children of her own yet, Elizabeth loves kids and gets her fill as a volunteer at the Solace Tree, a local organization for grieving children.

Art Director Tammy Ackerman | Tammy@familypulsemag.com
Born on the windswept plains of Aberdeen, S.D. Art Director Tammy Ackerman graduated from Northern State University with a degree Fine Art. She relocated to Reno in 1994 and enmeshed herself in the city's design community. In 2000, Ackerman co-founded MeshCreative, a design studio specializing in web development, printed materials, and corporate identities. After eleven years in Reno, she sought new adventures on the East Coast and resettled in a former mill town in southern Maine. In 2007, Ackerman opened the doors of Franklin Street Art Space, a gallery dedicated to contemporary art. Building on two decades of experience, she continues her freelance graphic design work via her company North40Creative and her ties to Reno, working on Family Pulse.
